In the fourth session of the Artist Marketing Boot Camp series we will discuss
how to assess and evaluate the artist’s marketing efforts through the free tool
of Google Analytics.
In today’s session we will discuss how to evaluate and assess the artist’s online and offline marketing efforts through the use of Google Analytics. In previous sessions we provided ideas on what to do to bring your website up to date and user friendly and how to draw traffic to your website with online and offline marketing ideas. Not all of these suggestions for online and offline marketing will be successful for you and at some point you will need to know what is bringing traffic effectively to your website.
With analytics data, you will be able to see if your marketing efforts are targeting your audience properly. With this knowledge, you can then discard what is not working in your marketing program and then shift your efforts to what is working for you.

If an artist wants to get serious with their art career and want to jump ahead of most other artists, I suggest that you have Google Analytics installed on your website and try to learn as much as possible about this program and the information that it will provide to you on a daily basis. In addition, helping your traffic and conversions with your website, the data that can be mined from the analytics will help you with the implementation of your other promotions and marketing as well.
By taking the step of installing, learning how to use and interpreting Google Analytics data, an artist is taking a huge step forward in the marketing of their art and this is a step that most artists will not take for themselves.
